ELF Haul and Makeup Look!

Today my ELF order arrived in the post so I thought I'd share what I got with you. I tried not to go too crazy, so here's what I got...

elf beauty book
£6.00 - comes in Natural, Smokey or Bronzed
elf beauty book
Inside - Eyeshadows, primer, applicator and eyeliner

First I got this Beauty Book. It comes with six eyeshadows, a primer, an applicator and an eyeliner in the colour "coffee". I got the "Natural Look" one as I get most use out of brown shade eyeshadows. I definitely didn't need to get this, but I'd seen people online get them before and I've always fancied having a look at one myself! For the tiny price of £6.00 I definitely have no complaints!

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

elf contouring blush
£3.75 - in the shade St Lucia
I'm always one for a bit of contouring and my last powder that I was using for contouring and highlighting has crumbled apart, so I thought I'd try out this one. The darker shade is very pigmented which was a great surprise! I love the subtle pink blush too. I think I'll be getting a lot of use out of this one!

Maximum Coverage Concealer

£3.75 - in the shade Porcelain

It's fairly thick but not too thick, and seems to give decent coverage
I've been looking for a new concealer for ages now but never got round to actually committing and buying one! I was looking for something fairly heavy duty as my dark circles take a bit of covering up but I didn't want to pay too much as I often find concealers a bit hit and miss. This one promises a good coverage and for only £3.75 I figured if it wasn't as good as I'd hoped I wouldn't have lost much. From first impressions, I like the consistency and it doesn't seem like it will look cakey if applied liberally so hopefully I'm on to a winner!

£5.00 - in the shade Ripe Rose

I'm a sucker for lipsticks but you already knew that! I have never tried a lipstick from ELF before so I thought I'd see if the Mineral Lipstick's were any good! This is a pricier item for ELF, coming in at £5. As soon as I got this this morning I had to try it out. I love the colour, it's a lovely red, not too much darker than my lips, which are naturally very red, but it definitely makes a statement! I really like how it feels on, and it isn't at all drying which is great. For £5, I think I want to try some other colours too!

Mineral Infused Face Primer

£6.00 - in shade Clear

Another thing I've been wanting to get is a primer. I've had the odd couple of primers in the past but never anything fancy but I was considering investing in a more expensive one as I figured if you pay more for it, it must be better, right? Well, I think we all know the answer to that deep down! Anyhow, when I saw this primer in it's fairly attractive bottle on the website, I thought I'd give it a go! It comes in a few shades, including a green one to combat redness, but I decided to play safe with clear. I expected it to be a bit sticky like a clear one I've had in the past (and hated for that very reason!) but it isn't at all! It goes onto the skin nice and smoothly and makes your skin really quite nice! Obviously I can't comment on the staying power that it gives to the makeup that you put over the top of it, but once I have gauged how well it works compared with my un-primered face, I might do a little review!

Angled Contour Brush

£3.75
Last but not least, I got this angled eye contour brush. I feel like I don't have enough eye brushes, and I refuse to use my Naked 2 brush with anything other than the beautiful palette it came with (anyone else? Or is it just me?). I liked the look of this brush as you can apply shadow to your whole lid as well as your crease with it and as with everything else "for the price" I guessed it couldn't be too bad! The bristles feel nice and soft and don't feel like they're about to shed either, which is a bonus!

Makeup Look

Naturally I couldn't wait to try everything out and even though I wasn't going anywhere today, I did a full face of makeup! I'm really happy with all of my purchases and the horrible early evening lighting really didn't do these photos any justice!

On my face I am wearing:
ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer
ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder
ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder
Seventeen Wow Highligher (3-way primer)
ELF eyeshadows from the Natural Look Beauty Book
ELF eyeliner in Coffee (bottom lash-line)
Lime Crime Eyeliner (top lash-line)
L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara
ELF Mineral Lipstick in Ripe Rose

    1. Having used it for a while now since posting, I can say it's pretty good! Especially for the price! I've paid lots more for concealers in the past and been far less impressed! xx
