New Year Eye Makeup Favourites

I thought I'd start my blog with a post that I'm really excited about. For Christmas I received some makeup products that I've wanted for a long while, and believe me they have not disappointed!

I'll start with my new favourite eyeshadow palette; I don't usually go for palettes because they usually contain some naff colours. Not this one though. The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is utter perfection in my opinion!

I've been having so much fun playing around with the colours. I think they may have stopped selling the Naked 2 now because of the release of the Naked 3, but if you can get your hands on one, it's 100% worth the money. Every shade is beautifully pigmented and they're not too powdery.

Next is a mascara. I'm always trying new mascaras as I'm always looking for something better than what I have. This time I may have found what I'm looking for. The Lancôme Hypnôse Drama is just great.

It's super black which I love, as well as being separating and lengthening. The wand has a curve to it and is a good size (not too big or too small). I'd love to repurchase it but I'm not sure that as a student I can justify spending around £21 on a mascara...

My final product was a total surprise. I wasn't looking for a new eyeliner, especially not a pencil liner as I've always been a liquid / felt tip kinda girl. However, I got my Hypnôse Drama in a gift set which came with a black pencil liner; Le Crayon Khôl in 01 Noir.

I am so thankful that I didn't just put this to one side and that I decided to try it! My goodness, it's the creamiest, blackest and most easy to apply eyeliner in the world! I am converted! I will always need this in my life! I thought I'd swatch it next to my usual felt tip Maybelline liner as a comparison.

On the left is the Lancôme pencil liner and on the right is the Maybelline felt tip liner. That was one stroke with the pencil and it is just as black as the messy felt tip scribble. I cannot rave about this eyeliner enough! It is just amazing and I'm so glad it fell accidentally into my life!

So, those were my new year favourite eye makeup products. Hopefully I'll be back very soon with some more ramblings. I'm going try to do some regular updates on all different things, mainly beauty, fashion and some randomness from my life.

Let me know what you think of these or what your favourites have been recently.
